These Are the Voyages...
Hi folks. Haven't been playing poker a lot during COVID due to some major obstacles, but getting back to it. Last year just 124h of poker and 445 MTTs (probably less than any year since I started playing around 2005) for some minor profit. Made over 60k€ from casino and sportsbook stuff though (concentrated more on those, as they don't require as much concentration and effort). Week ago played and got a little trophy: Yesterday woke up 8 PM, decided to jump right at the deep end (playing 50 R/A's too) and got 2nd place from Odyssey. Would've been fun to start this with trophy pics (also was like 6th at Gorsky) but better than nothing: Playing on other sites too, but naturally gonna concentrate on Unibet stuff here. Sit and Go Grind - My Blog
Hello everyone,
I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but I’ve decided to start a blog. I’ve been in the poker world for years, and I’ve never kept a blog before. Partly for fun, and partly because I think it will help motivate me to put some pressure on myself.
A little background about myself: I’m currently 33 years old, from the Netherlands, and I work as an account manager in the print industry. In my daily life, I’m a father of two amazing children. I enjoy strength training, hiking and cooking. I’ve been playing poker since I was about 18 and was quite successful during my student days. During the pandemic, I got back into it and started playing again, purely for a little extra cash.
I will mainly focus on 5-max SNGs, but I also enjoy playing some tournaments and cash games from time to time. My bankroll starts at €500, and I plan to begin at the €4 and €10 limits. If enough games are running, I want to focus as much as possible on the €10 games. I typically play around 8 tables at once. For both sit-and-gos and MTTs, I will adhere to the following bankroll management:
€0 - €300: Up to €5 SNGs/MTTs
€301 - €1,250: Up to €10 SNGs/MTTs
€1,250 - €2,500: Up to €25 SNGs/MTTs
€2,500 - €4,000: Up to €50 SNGs/MTTs
€4,000+: Up to €100 SNGs/MTTs
In addition to online poker, I will also play some live games from time to time, and I plan to include those results in this blog.
I expect to update at least once a month, but I anticipate more like weekly or bi-weekly updates.
I hope to share great results, interesting hands or moments at the poker table, live poker stories, and possibly even some personal goals.
To set a small goal for myself by the end of this year, it would be great to reach €25 SNGs. This means I need to win €666 per month over the next three months. That should be achievable as long as I can maintain the volume. I hope this blog will help me with that!

It all started back in the 2000/2001 season, when the Danish forward Ebbe Sand had a fantastic season at Schalke 04. My interest was aroused; I read a lot about Schalke and the Bundesliga, and I started watching a lot of games as well. It didn't take long, before I was hooked - I had become a Bundesliga junkie. In the years to come, I'd spend countless hours in front of the tv and computer, watching and analyzing games, reading Bundesliga news etc. The number of Schalke matches I've missed in the last 2 years, can be counted on one hand, and I've obviously been to Gelsenkirchen a few times as well. About 5-6 years ago I started betting on the Bundesliga. I got off to a less than optimal start, but I learned a lot and my game slowly improved. A few years later I had my own Bundesliga betting blog with a ROI of +10, and I was also a Bundesliga expert at the largest Danish betting community for a short while. When I started working for Unibet, I didn't feel like I had the time to bet seriously anymore, and for almost a year, I didn't place a single bet. Today I'm only betting for the entertainment, but I like to believe, that I've still got the ability to spot a bet with value. I'm going to challenge myself, and will post a few Bundesliga bets every week, with the goal of creating a small profit. I'll keep score of the bets in this post. As there's quite a long time till the next Bundesliga game, I'll temporarily be using this thread to share my view on transfers, season bets and anything Bundesliga, that I find interesting. My poker tournament has paused unexpectedly - what now?
In order to ensure everyone is impacted equally by global connection issues, we've got an automatic pause of tournaments in place, whenever there're widespread disconnection/server issues. If your tournament has just been paused unexpectedly, here's what to do and expect: Please don't close the table, when the tournament has paused. Keep the client and table open. During business hours we will always try and keep everyone informed about what's going on. This is done here on the community as well as through notifications in the poker client. If the issue happens during the night, we likely won't be able to provide live updates on the status. For all HexaPro's, all SNG's and MTT's with less than €10,000 prizepool: if the tournament has not resumed again within 30 minutes, the tournament will be cancelled. For MTT's with a prizepool of €10,000 or more: if the tournament has not resumed within 60 minutes, the tournament will be cancelled. So in case of an unexpected pause, please keep the table open for 30-60 minutes, based on the above criteria. If the tournament has not resumed by then, you can close the client/sign out and be rest assured that the tournament will not resume. The actual cancellations and refunds do not happen automatically after 30/60 minutes, so the tournaments can remain paused for longer, before being cancelled. If an issue were to occur at 3am, it is for instance possible that the cancellations wouldn't happen before around 8am. Loss Limit
Hi everyone, Been playing poker on Unibet for 6 years and love the site but having an issue which may mean I can no longer continue to do so. I am a recreational player, in profit overall, and have built up a bankroll to play at the higher stakes available on the site. The loss limit of 2.5k is now proving to be an issue at the stakes I am playing. I have tried to get this increased but support want to base my affordability on monthly disposable income of my salary rather than considering bankroll management and moving up through stakes. I've had to provide a load of financial information but feel like banging my head against the wall as they don't seem to understand poker and that my bankroll is completely separate to my life finances. Can anyone here help me or had similar issues? Maybe the unibet support poker team monitor these posts and can help? TIA and for reading 😐

The Betting Button Design Causes More Misclicks
Lately I've started paying more attention to misclicks and noticed that they happen way more often on the Unibet software than anywhere else. At least for me, the layout of the buttons regularly causes two mistakes:
1. In tournaments when trying to press the small "All-in" button, I instead hit the call button which can lead to disasters on later streets
2. When trying to click the small input window for an opening size or a 3bet, I too often just hit the "Raise" and minclick it instead
I've now learned to scroll for a 3bet instead of typing it in, but for opening sizes and shoves i keep constantly misclicking which can completely f up the hand. I guess the difference to other sites is that on Unibet the preflop size buttons are in the middle of the betting slide and the action buttons, instead of being on top of them both, which in my experience leads to less misclicks (picture below).
Has anyone else been facing this same problem with the layout of the betting buttons?
