Breaking Even

What's up! My name is Sam, I'm 35 and identify as a fish. I've played poker since I turned 18 and played professionally for 7-8 years of my adult life (pre solvers). The years in between then and now were spent working as a chef on tour in the music biz (final tour i did was the Rolling Stones) before moving onto films (final film I did was the new Bond) and then COVID happened...  I initially went back to poker during the first lockdown with an out of date skillset and a bad work life balance with almost no time devoted towards studying. After a bad run and about a -10k downswing I decided to put a stop to playing and study theory as a hobby until I felt confident in my game again. This blog is being started with the intention of detailing my progress as I work towards becoming a breakeven player and spin up a bankroll for a US trip next year with some banter and strategy sprinkled in. Most of my volume will be in cash with some MTT punts and occasional sports betting. My return to the tables in September started off hot and I even managed to bink a UOS low rebuy for +£1k! Net Unibet winnings (Year): £2390 Net Unibet winnings (Lifetime):  -£1188.42 Goals for the month: Quit smoking, Update blog weekly, Play 45k cash hands, No shot taking, HQ Study sessions, Activate rungood VAMANOS!

Stubbe's Bundesliga Corner

It all started back in the 2000/2001 season, when the Danish forward Ebbe Sand had a fantastic season at Schalke 04. My interest was aroused; I read a lot about Schalke and the Bundesliga, and I started watching a lot of games as well. It didn't take long, before I was hooked - I had become a Bundesliga junkie. In the years to come, I'd spend countless hours in front of the tv and computer, watching and analyzing games, reading Bundesliga news etc. The number of Schalke matches I've missed in the last 2 years, can be counted on one hand, and I've obviously been to Gelsenkirchen a few times as well. About 5-6 years ago I started betting on the Bundesliga. I got off to a less than optimal start, but I learned a lot and my game slowly improved. A few years later I had my own Bundesliga betting blog with a ROI of +10, and I was also a Bundesliga expert at the largest Danish betting community for a short while. When I started working for Unibet, I didn't feel like I had the time to bet seriously anymore, and for almost a year, I didn't place a single bet. Today I'm only betting for the entertainment, but I like to believe, that I've still got the ability to spot a bet with value. I'm going to challenge myself, and will post a few Bundesliga bets every week, with the goal of creating a small profit. I'll keep score of the bets in this post. As there's quite a long time till the next Bundesliga game, I'll temporarily be using this thread to share my view on transfers, season bets and anything Bundesliga, that I find interesting. EDIT: now that we've got the new emoticons implemented, I'll start using a money bag scale to indicate the value. This info will be added to the heading of each bet. :cash: = 100-103.9 BV
:cash::cash: = 104-106.9 BV
:cash::cash::cash: = 107-109.9 BV
:cash::cash::cash::cash:= 110-112.9
:cash::cash::cash::cash::cash: = >112.9
An Excel sheet with all bets can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/03gzxjg595t8ybd/Bundesliga_Corner_Stubbe.xlsx?dl=0

DEEP STACK LEGEND vs SHORT STACK MASTER

@Stubbe-Unibet Hi, I have question regarding leaving tables and getting back. On SSM i LEFT and come back 1 hour later and my sit in  stack was high (x times origin) as i LEFT an hour ago. On the other hand (which is getting very frustrating) on DSL i had many-many occasion when i did NOT LEFT, other guys gone, table got empty and closed, and after just a few minutes sometimes or max 15-20mins, i had to start all over again from the 1000BB, not from where i left.. I could not see how much was the winning stack for the ticket, but  i know that my satck would be higher if the "coming back rule" was the same as on the SSM..   Regarding the tickets, i have another question😎 What is the logic for playing 50cents and getting NL10 tickets, while playing 10cents and getting NL100 tickets?   Thank you

Getaway from planet Breakeven and land on the Supermoon

Hello everybody!
First of all let me say this is my first blog in english language, so be patient 🙂
The title is maybe missleading as I'm on my sasonal break from trying to freeroll into the 250€ Supermoon, but for the sake of the blog/challenge I might play some qualifiers from time to time. The break is due to longer and warmer days and the kid is not going to bed that early like in the winter. It wasn't my initial intention to open this blog, but theres absolutely nothing to lose. If i'll improve my English i'll count it as a success. My story is very similar to @GR1ZZL3R. Years of playing, but still stuck at the micros's. I was a reg at NL10 before Unibet, the bankroll is there also for more than that, but at the moment I somehow don't feel confortable. Maybe this blog will push me and motivate me to jump and try it and see how it goes.
On the other side, I had my moments in MTT's where I had a pleasure to play buy ins up to 530$, thanks to satellites. Great experience in my poker life. I hope to live such emotions soon again 😉 To keep me focused on my game and not to be result oriented and frustrated about the money I keep my balance hidden, but for the sake of this blog i'll write down my Unibet balance at the moment Bankroll on 3rd April:  523 EUR
Bonus points: 1007
Tickets: 10€ Supermoon, 10€ Unibet live
Gamelab hand counter: 358.000
XP: 592 So, what's the plan!? I will do what i'm usually doing. Playing 4NL (I should go for a 10NL regarding my bankroll, but swings are huge already), taking advantage of promotions, completing missions (if affordable) and all the goodies Unibet will offer. I don't exclude a jump on 10NL if I will feel to do it. Time permitting I would love to play also MTT's 1-5 EUR Freeroll into the 250€ Supermoon strategy:
flip 0.04€ -> flip 0.40€ -> 2€ -> 10€ -> 50€ -> 250€) 🚀 land & cash it Every quarter I'll try to reach Level2 as soon as possible, to be eligible for a bi-weekly freerolls and try to collect tickets for MTTs.
Goal: have fun and make some profit after all
